Ankle and foot pain has a way of affecting everything else: the way you walk, run, train and even stand changes to compensate, which often creates problems elsewhere. Whether you’ve rolled your ankle playing sport, developed nagging heel pain from running, or you’re dealing with ongoing Achilles discomfort, our Sydney CBD physiotherapists can help you understand the cause and get you moving confidently again.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an ankle sprain take to heal?

Mild sprains often improve within a couple of weeks, while more significant ligament injuries can take 6–12 weeks to fully rehabilitate. Getting an early assessment helps ensure you’re loading the ankle appropriately rather than either resting too long or returning too soon.

Why does my heel hurt most in the morning?

This is a classic sign of plantar fasciitis. The tissue tightens overnight and is then suddenly stretched with your first steps. A physio assessment can confirm the cause and get you started on the right treatment.

Can I keep running with Achilles or shin pain?

Sometimes, with modification to volume, surface or technique, but pushing through worsening pain often prolongs recovery. We’ll assess your specific situation and help you build a plan that keeps you moving where possible.

I keep rolling the same ankle. Why?

Repeated ankle rolls are often a sign that the ligaments and surrounding muscles haven’t fully regained their strength and proprioception after an earlier sprain. A targeted rehab programme can address this rather than just waiting for the next roll.
