What is a Telehealth Physiotherapy Consultation?

A Telehealth Consultation is an online video appointment with your usual treating Physio. All our Bend + Mend Physio’s conduct Telehealth appointments for their existing and new clients who may not be able to come into the clinic.

All you need to connect is an internet connection and computer, phone or tablet with a camera and microphone and we will do the rest!

  • Knee, shoulder and ankle injuries
  • Women’s Health (Pelvic floor, bladder and bowel, pelvic pain and more)
  • Pain management

What is involved in a Telehealth Physiotherapy Consultation?

When booking in you will be sent an email to guide the quick and easy set up with a direct link to connect to your Physio online. We book you into our diary just as if you were coming into the clinic so you have a defined appointment time. All you need is an iPad/phone/laptop with a camera and microphone and an internet connection.

During the assessment we will ask our normal questions if you have a new injury, or about your existing injury, to get a clear idea of your presenting condition.

We will assess your movements via video link so it’s a good idea to have some space around you.

We will provide you with an informed diagnosis.

Our Physio’s will then recommend the best treatment plan for you. This will include specific advice on activity, self-management, and treatment options for pain. This may also involve videos or demonstrations of exercises appropriate for your condition.

Follow up Telehealth consults are available to ensure effective results, progress or modify what you are doing at home and make sure you achieve your goals.

Payment can be taken via credit card by our reception team at the end of your appointment.

What does it cost and can I claim using my health fund?

Initial Telehealth Consultation: 45mins $145

Follow-Up Telehealth Consultation: 30mins $135

Most private health funds allow rebates for Telehealth Physiotherapy Consultations so please check with your fund regarding their specific coverage.
